Siborg Systems Inc. has released an updated version of the LCR-Reader, the Colibri. After a year of availability, the LCR-Reader has gotten some tweaks to offer a better experience for customers.
The Colibri offers the same basic accuracy of 1% as the LCR-Reader, as well as the same automatic component identification and instantaneous results. The main differences between the Colibri and the LCR-Reader is the ability to select the test frequency as well as the measurement mode to provide more specific measurement capabilities. On the LCR-Reader only the measurement mode was changeable by pressing the button, with the device cycling through ‘AM’, ‘L’, ‘R’, ‘C’. The Colbri cycles as such; ‘AM’, ‘L’ 1kHz (default), 100 Hz, 10 kHz, ‘C’ 1kHz, 100 Hz, 10 kHz, etc. Also added was the ability to reset the device to fully automatic default settings by pressing and holding the device for a few seconds. Colibri comes with precision gold-plated tips which better improve the ability to hold components.
